Workshops in Hoole - Chester
Dyeing with Indigo and Shibori techniques.

Sunday 14th April 9.30 - 16.30

Spend a day with Molly in a cosy small group of up to five people and learn the magic of dyeing with indigo and using shibori techniques.

 

Indigo has an alchemy all of its own and, using various stitching, tying and clamping methods, wonderful patterns can be created.

 

Join us and you can spend the day exploring them with Molly.

​

Whats included:

  • Fabric to make your own samples to take away, in a variety of fabrics

  • An organic cotton voile scarf to dye

  • Use of Molly's Indigo vats and equipment

  • A light lunch and refreshments during the day

  • An illustrated printed handout to reminding you of what you have learnt

Leaves and Flowers Sunday 28th April 14.00 - 17.00
In this workshop Molly will show you three methods for making leaves and flowers, using soluble fabric. The different methods are suitable for different levels of ability, making the workshop suitable for beginners and intermediates alike.
£30 All materials provided.
 
Coil Pot workshop Sunday 9th June 14.00 - 17.00
This is a very popular workshop, making fabulous containers from a piece of rope, on your sewing machine. 
But be warned, it is also very addictive.£30 All materials provided.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the venue in Machynlleth has changed to Derwenlas Community Centre, on Saturday 20th April.

Here  will be another opportunity to do that very popular coil pot workshop in the morning, with free motion leaves and flowers in the afternoon.

Molly will provide the materials for both workshops. 

You need to bring your own machine (and free motion foot for the flowers and leaves workshop).

Your machine needs to be in good working order and have been PAT tested in the last year.

You can, by prior arrangement use one of Molly's machines.

Molly is currently delivering an ongoing programme of workshops at the Mostyn shop.
 
These are currently 'Introduction to your Sewing Machine' and 'Next steps with your Sewing Machine'. They also include 'Introduction to your Overlocker' and 'Next Steps with Your Overlocker'.

There are three new workshops for 2024
  • Making cushion covers. In this workshop you will spend the morning learning new skills, such as making bias binding, free motion embroidery, appliqué and inserting a concealed zip. Then in the afternoon, you will make a cushion using one of Mollys designs, or to your own design.
  • Making pockets, where you will explore several ways to make fantastic pockets. 
  • Zipped bags, making cosmetic sized zipped bags
